It is a special portal in time indeed! My mom actually saved it. She's an archivist at heart, a great reader, and used to work in a library, so that makes sense.
Thank you for bringing back k so many great memories of my childhood. One of our big things in jr. High was if we got our OWN phone number. We were in the big leagues. And thank gawd there were no cell phones to record those many times I was doing something that shouldn’t ever been seen again!!! Bravo Lanier.
I couldn't agree more. Thank god, we had no evidence of our antics or not much for posterity's sake anyway. When we were still at Montevallo Road, I had the same number as my childhood, and when we moved, I was in such a state, I didn't try to keep that number and upset everyone terribly. Funny how these things work.
Love this! “Feral generation” is hilarious, and I’m proud (and glad) to be a part of it. The message notebook is beyond classic and a clear demonstration of how we utilized phones at the time that today’s younger generations will never truly understand! Thanks for writing 💛💛💛💛💛
Thanks, Alex. I'm proud of myself for figuring it out and not having to call a youngster like you. Ha!
I had a yellow phone just like that!
I love it!
I LOVE the message book pages. What a gift to have that portal through time.

Mama still has my childhood number. One of few I can actually remember thanks to contacts and iPhones.
I had my same phone number from my childhood until we moved!
